MOTIVATIONAL PROGRAM FOR THE EMPLOYEES TO BE FOLLOWED BY THE COMPANY
)
The motivational program of our company would be including the following techniques, which would be further put into action. Such techniques would help not only the employees, but would also enhance the efficiency of the organization as a whole.
1. LEAD BY EXAMPLE: -
This method not only trains but also inspires others to achieve greater result.
As Emerson once wrote, 'Who you are speaks so loudly I can't hear what you're saying.' It doesn't matter what you want others to do if you are not willing to set the example first. This presents a definite problem for managers and supervisors of our company who would rather have people 'do as they say and not as they do,' therefore, in order to improve the performance and experience of the people you rely on, the changes have to come from the head down.
Hence, by acting in a way that managers wish others to act, they can quickly improve the moral of the employees and motivate them throughout.
2. FOUR STEPS OF THE MORNING: -
The first few minutes of the workday can often be the most important minutes the company has with our people. It sets the tone for the rest of the day, inspiring others to achieve greater results.
Below are four quick and easy ideas that can help the employees get the jump-start they need every morning before work begins.
• Early Arrival
Managers should arrive to work before or with the employees and let their actions demonstrate their dedication to the company and its objectives. Managers must expect the best from themselves before expecting the same from others.
• Energy
Managers should walk in with a spring in step and a smile on face that will spread the enthusiasm necessary for a productive workday. Everyone sends off vibes, and as a manager or leader, the vibes can oftentimes overpower others.
• Meet and Greet
Beginning the day by greeting employees can also be motivating, as they will feel cared by such action and will feel as an important asset to the company.
• Expectations
While making rounds managers can accomplish another objective that is sure to motivate employees to action. Carrying out this method requires that one has a clear plan of action each day.
3. EDUCATION: -
Create or maintain a program that constantly educates the employees about the latest trends, techniques, and methods available in our industry, say, through seminars or workshops or by providing them books based on success.
This will satisfy one of the strongest needs a human being has – growth. People need to grow in order to work at their peak levels.
Lastly, one of the most effective methods to educating employees or team members is to learn the information by oneself and share it with power and passion. To be a great leader, managers have to be willing to know our industry inside and out before they can expect the people to do the same.
4. LET THE IDEAS BE HEARD AND IMPLEMENT THEM: -
Managers have to create an atmosphere in which the new ideas our employees learn are valued and shared. They have to gather employees together and ask them about what they've learnt and how they feel their ideas could improve the company.
If managers don't make use of the ideas, they are simply wasting theirs and their employee's time. There is success in new information, but managers are the one who have to bring it to the surface.
While not every new idea or gem of information will pan out, recognize and test the ideas that you feel may improve the company. This would drive employees to do whatever they could to make the company better. The faster the company satisfies the needs of employees, the faster they will work to satisfy the company.
5. RECOGNITION: -
Managers should aim at recognizing efforts made by the employees that have contributed to the success of the company in any way. Recognizing not only the ones who have come up with a great idea or have been very actively working for the benefit of the organization, but even those whose ideas or work were slightly less appreciative.
By recognizing the work of employees, company would have an advantage in terms of results the employees will generate thereafter.
6. MONETARY INCENTIVES: -
Monetary incentives can be in the form of allowances that can be given to employees in the company. Managers can formulate the plan comprising of the monetary allowances to the employees in terms of transportation, holiday packages, electricity and telephone bills, rent-free allowances, etc.
This would help reduce the burden of employees and enable them to concentrate entirely on their work. However, this form of motivational tool should be provided at maximum only to those employees who have been efficient and dedicated. Others can be given it to a certain degree of extent just so as to motivate them to perform better constantly to avail the further benefits.
