Mortgage applications off 1.5% on week-to-week basis: MBA (Market Watch)
Fewer applicants seek mortgages, with the volume of applications filed last week down a seasonally adjusted 1.5% compared with the last week of July, the Mortgage Bankers Association says. Applications plunge 36.9% on an unadjusted basis for the week ended Aug. 8 compared with the same week in 2007.
