Money is Motivator ?

Money is obviously important but most evidence suggests that it is not a major motivator in the long term. To demonstrate this you can ask yourself “Why do so many wealthy people still continue work when they have no financial need to carry on working?” This question could be explained using Maslow’s needs of self esteem and self actualization. People have a need to try to fulfill their potential and gain satisfaction. They can do this through work.

How much should individuals earn? Even if resources were endless, it would be challenging to identify your perfect wage. Naturally, one would think that greater pay should generate better outcomes, but scientific evidence shows that the link between compensation, motivation and performance is much more complex. Actually, studies suggest that even if we let individuals choose how much they should generate, they would probably not appreciate their job more.

Even those who highlight the motivational results of money accept that pay alone is not sufficient. The primary questions are: Does money make our jobs more enjoyable? Or can higher incomes really demotivate us? :SugarwareZ-282:

For me money is the biggest motivator. It is simple to say that money does not buy your happiness and satisfaction but it can buy that things which can give you happiness and satisfaction. In this high level of competition where everybody is working very hard for only getting less, money matters a lot.
