same position as you guys..hopin to crack CAT this year though maths is d problem subj...have joined IMS....but may also be joinin TIME for the test series as I have hrd that its quite good...

Well thts correct, the TIME test series. is very good prep bfr the finalee..!! The thing is TIME has its test series test majorly on sundays and if you in IMS you would be have simcats on sundays 2..!! So jst have a check on the same...!!:big_grin:
 
well this time things r going to be tuff for me....as will have to crack it while doing a job and thats too in private sector....trust me it;s not easy...but no complaints....will do it.!!
well any plans guyz....howz the things going at ur end?how quants is going and scores in Mock CAT's or FLT's???keep posting...i m going to have PT's tests.....anyone from PT can post his scores...+ will try to get CL's FLT's too...

Hi neha...well i have also just started preparation for CAT 06.It might be a good idea if u give small introduction of urs..r u giving CAT for the first time??
well myself amar and bcaz i m working it's not feasible for me to join any batch like u...but as far as material is concern u will find plethora of it here on MP.Moreover material on strategy and "know how"is also here,but i suggest u should make ur won strategy...gave CAT once ..cat04...got absymal 88 percentile..it's gonna b 2nd chance!!
In starting u can start with basic fundamental of maths...open ur 9th 10th standred book for reference...practice mental calculations(they r really helpful) vedic maths could b another option....try to crame sq. roots reciprocals etc upto 30.....u must b aware of these basic things..
most imp is time management....Preparation from MBA starts from the day u star preparaing for CAT...thats wat i think

for maths should refer to vedic maths books as well . i some ims material will that be sufficient.

well....for maths this is the time to look less and practice more as far as vedic maths is cocern..it might not add something directly but vedic maths and mental calculation r really helpful in DI.
As told u before material is not an issue...on MP too u will find enuff of that...IMS material would b fine according to me...it;s more abt doing things and less abt collecting material..i did this thing last time....trust me..make a strategy how and when u will finish things....weekly schedule might help.
I m starting with mental maths and number system first...1st week will b for it...(mental,vedic maths would go on as it's practice)....with a RC daily.
will start cramming words again..25@ day...
reading newspapers is imperative..thats m doing..atleast trying in office hours.
what ur plan is??

u can start up d prep by goin thru various material available fr cat..devote time equally n 3 main topics-maths eng n logic

well saw all ur mails . i couldnt reply have my exams going on. well as for the strategy. i had started a some maths with numbers and algebra. for vocab i am learning the roots, prefix, suffiixes first it'll help in guessing the meaning of a new word. anyway i dont think only learning the words will help so whatever i was reading the new words in those i am learning those along with their prefix etc. well as for now i have given cat a break till my exams are over.

buddy start with reading books. here at MP v will soon have section on books to read and every week we will have a book of week. u can go through that and read it. you will get a thorough variety of books to read. latest book to recommend is the undercover economist by tim harford.
 
well guys im Rahul .... prparing for CAT-06...so we all r on same boat
well my prepration has not kick started yet gr8ly as such i have been in CAT prepration frm aug-2005 but its all in bits n pieces..as doing enggg so there is halt on every 6 months but really waiting for kill frm this june..as such i m a CLite frm Gwalior..so just heating my self to rock the Billi!! bye tc

well myself doing less now a days...just shifted to new PG...going through"snapshot from hell"...cool book..nothing much progress in maths...just mental maths is going.i need to work on quants..thats for sure
