By the way, it's important to note that there are two factions for practicing KM within MIS.
The first is an explicit set of KM organizations that are responsible for finding, documenting, classifying, organizing, publishing, sharing, teaching, etc. Knowledge (in the form of Data and/or Information).
The second is the belief that good Knowledge Management is performed within each IT Discipline area (search google for "IT Disciplines" to find a complete list). In this case, each Discipline Owners is responsible for applying and maximizing KM capabilities within his or her Discipline area.
