"Mile sur mera tumara" which one is good. The earlier one or the new one?

I find the earlier one good. Latest one has shown only bollywood celebrities.

Dear, it shouldn`t be about old or new version of "Mile sur mera tumara". More important is its relevance to the occasion. And yes I can say proudly the lyrics and the music both are impressive. The songs leaves a good impression on the mind of Indian masses.Words really speaks in both the versions of the song.

Mile sur mera tumhara's earlier version was really very good and current one is also good but not as earlier one. previous one gives us the feel of nationalism and was heart touching.

'Mile sur mera tumhara, jo sur bane hamara.......'
Its a very beautiful patriotic song or rather d one which shows what India is and how diversified yet united we are in terms of our language or culture.

However, to answer your question, even i find earlier version of this song better than the new one. It is the song which symbolizes culture of our nation not only to our own countrymen but also to people abroad. What I think is that such songs should be kept simple and show all those people from most of the fields who have contributed to our country.

Earlier version had most of the iconic personalities of our nation from all fields which have taken our country into the category of well-known and respectful countries.

In the new version, its more of Bollywood celebrities instead of iconic personalities coming together (just as if they are shooting for Farah Khan's OSO).
Except, Rahman and Bachchan saab or may be few others, I don't think there was a need to take any other celebrity for the song.

Moreover, even if you have taken them, whats the need to shoot it like a bollywood masala blockbuster movie.
I find no reason for Deepika Padukone standing in between of water in a skirt and showing her closeup teeth.
Mr Bachchan is a renowned personality globally but there was no need to take entire Bachchan family, specially Abhishek Bachchan.

SRK is also a global personality but again the way he is shown in the song is pathetic. Damn SRK how could he do it in such a song. Why didn't producers or director keep it simple. It seem as if SRK is taking some avatar energy from the air. It reminded me of his role as a cancer patient in KHNH(asking for life from God in the song). Seriously, people you'll believe me if you see the song.
Aamir Khan is fit for the song and his role is kept simple yet heart touching.
Salman Khan(mind you I am his big fan), why is he seen posing in his vest without any reason. Its good to see him with small kids of his own charitable trust. But what was the necessity for him to be in a vest????

Rahman's is music legend and he is shown in his new avatar, for the first time i came to know about this Finger Keyboard which he plays in the song.

Where is Lata Mangeshkar (Lata tai), Sachin Tenulkar (Tendla), Vishwanathan Anand, Mr Kalam or Sonia Gandhi in the song !!! Though, good to see "FEW" glimpses of some sport personalities like Bindra and Virender in the newer version.

Shilpa Shetty, Ranbir Kapoor, Shahid (seemed to be promoting 'Chance pe Dance' with his finger style), I must be missing many....

Enuff of critics...Seriously, guys the newer version could have been better if they would have focused on above factors and tried to make it as a NATIONAL/CULTURAL song for people rather then a typical short 10 mins fashion documentary.

i agree that the new one is more about celebrities than about the nation. Its depicts the bollymania of the country rather than nationality.

The issue is not about old or new version. The debate should relate to the icons spreading the message. It appears that the nation is so bereft of leading lights that every time the message of India's unity in diversity has to be communicated we have to turn towards the cricketers or Bollywood. Another salient is that none of the politicians, the so called representatives of the masses, was found fit to feature in the video.

I think the sentiment behind the song is more important than the actual visuals, its a song which brings us together as INDIANS , the gen x which has n idea about Wat the previous version is glad to see & hear such a melodious rendition.few will the older version and few the modern version but eventually the theme is Wat matters the most! i personally enjoyed both of them .
