His short film is based on the story of the character Ahalya. Ahalya in Indian Mythology was considered to be most beautiful women in the world. But, she was cursed and converted into stone by her husband Gautama for her infidelity.
The plot is all same, but there is a twist and you might find it more interesting and relevant to modern times. There, Gautama cursed Ahalya for the crime she did not commit but, in this kalyug, Ahalya and his husband vengeful activities reveal at end in an outstanding and incredulous way. In his short film, Radhika Apte plays the role of Ahalya, the young and beautiful wife of famous artist Soumitra Chatterjee (Played the role of Gautama).
Mystery starts with dolls and ends on them; bringing spooky and frenzy sensation. This is the sly direction of Sujoy Ghosh and it will keep you focused. Sujoy Ghosh film always starts with missing case, here too; the film starts when a young policeman (Tota Roy Chowdhury) enters their home to question about the missing man whose mantelpiece is perfectly shelved on their alamari.
