Medway Business Intelligence (BI) is a ?exible reporting tool and
management information system designed exclusively for the NHS.
Precon?gured to work with healthcare data, information can be
integrated, stored, analysed and presented according to individual
organisation requirements.
Medway BI has been con?gured to work with data
processed by the Medway product suite as well as
other PAS products. Data from third party stand-alone
systems can also be incorporated to produce a wide
range of managerial, operational, Körner and other
statutory information.
Medway BI runs in a Microsoft environment, using
SQL Server 2008 Reporting Services and Analysis
Services for the NHS.
Medway BI offers further functionality covering
Contracting, Payment by Results (PbR) and
commissioning data sets (CDS) production.

Flexible contracting rules
Key Features:
• A wide range of standard healthcare reports “out
of the box”, all of which can be used as templates
for localised and tailored reports and queries.
The templates provided cover most aspects of
secondary care information requirements
• Medway BI allows end users to click on
management reports in a browser window
whilst skilled information staff can use it to
analyse data in detail and to produce a variety
of reports including National, Monitor, Trust
PCT/CCG’s required reports
• Users can to run operational reports and
analysis reports without impacting on the
performance of the operational EPR system
• Medway BI operates on RBAC type access
rights to ensure that data is secure and only
available to those who need to see it
• Provides a full data extract of all the data
items, conforming to the national standards
for commissioning data sets (CDS) and with
further user de?nable ?elds
• CDS extracts can be scheduled to run in
bulk or NET change mode, downloaded to
any required speci?cation for submission to
SUS via the Trust’s preferred XML translation
service or to produce further extracts
• Contracting functionality ascertains the
commissioner and contract details applying
national, PbR based and local rules via an
extensive use con?gurable rules engine.
Slice and dice functionality allows data to
be displayed in various chart formats
