Measuring Governance in a Pluralistic Society

The elections in a state is causing ripples across the political spectrum. The political leaders on the side of "development" basically haven't made any efforts to convince public regards their development philosophy, neither has media questioned the acceptability of the 'view' on development being acceptable to larger pluralistic society. While the media has started to bring out 'events' that points to raising concerns or issues depicting 'governance failure' or/including mind-set problem amongst governing leadership. However it is about policy issues which still not being raised effectively.

The media is not raising questions that if there exist some 25 or more non-affiliated & non-government social organizations that have witnessed increased support and encouragement from the current dispensation towards their work in providing level playing field to the under-privileged. While some leaders did retort that the leaders from under-privileged world do not receive a "Nobel" for breaking "walls" such as one we had with Bangladesh, we are still waiting to see, if such leaders have ability to set some example for others to emulate. However the debate in commercial news media remains self-serving i.e. neglect of its role or lack of projection of some other leaders who may already be well-recognized for some other reasons but want a piece or action everywhere.

We already have authors on agitation and a view that nuisance creators on any side will have a field day especially in media with no government action besides some encouragement on the side-lines. While the leaders in government are busy celebrating their development credentials such as digital economy with limited work delivery, issues like IPR or net-neutrality are left in limbo, e-commerce is kept in animation to be picked up depending upon situation keeping multiple sides occupied with government rather than having clear positions giving future directions.

We also keep getting news on Hi-speed rail with possibility of huge foreign backed investment/loans rather than river or near shore shipping (travel and transport) and near washing off hands of central leaders from power related commitments as this being a state leaders' responsibility.

The foundation stones on new cities seem to have been given way for foundation stones of private projects already and the jobs data hasn't become rosy yet to claim victory. On the other side, we do have country's growth getting dis-jointed from global growth as it seems to be rising currently when the larger global economies are portrayed to be struggling.To be developed further...
