a) What is it all about ?
It is a 5yrs integrated course of Engineering + MBA.
b) What was the purpose to launch MBA(Tech) programme ?
The Vision of NMIMS is to be a world-class center of excellence in management learning and innovation driven by social sensitivity and state of the art technology.
To better understand the Industry requirements, they had conducted an in depth study and had interactions with a cross section of industry leaders. These indicated that engineers are technocrats, but need management inputs in different functional areas in order to be really effective.
By integrating engineering and management in one single capsule to address a major industry requirement programme, this programme was launched by NMIMS in the year 2004, which was the first if it's kind in the country.
c) What are the disciplines/branches offered for engineering & MBA ?
The curriculum covers engineering courses in selected disiplines and the management courses relevant to that technology area. It is an integration of technology and management with the higher proportions of technological inputs in the initial stages and moving towards "technology management" in the later stages of the course.

d) What degree you get @ the end of 5yrs ?
You get two degrees - one BTech degree in specified area of engineering and other MBA(Tech) degree specifying your MBA discipline.
e) What are career opportunities ?
After successful completion of this programme, these "Technoimanagers" who have acquired a combined knowledge of engineering and management will therefore be able to contribute effectively to the business objectives. MBA-Tech is the course of the future. It is the present expectation and the future demand of the industry.
NOTE :MBA(Tech) is a 5yrs course which includes compulsory 5 months technical & 5 months management internships in several companies.
f) What is the eligibility criteria ?
A candidate must have passed 10+2 exam with Science or Science vocational with minimum 50% marks with PCM & English subject. Those awaiting their 10+2 exam result this year may also apply.
g) What is the selection process ?
Students are admitted to the MBA-Tech programme if they meet the required standards of the three-stage process described below:
Stage 1: a written Test is conducted at various locations in India. The venue is announced well before the test date.
Stage 2: Based on the performance in the written test, candidates are short-listed and called for a Personal interview at NMIMS Campus, Mumbai.
Stage 3: Based on the performance in Stage 1 and Stage 2 and on the candidates 12th standard PCM marks, a composite merit list is drawn as per criteria laid down by the Institute. Candidates are called for counseling session based on the above merit list. In the counseling session, candidates are alloted admissions to various disciplines as per their choice and availability of discipline.
