MBA or executive MBA...???

I m an engineering graduate who has scored 89.13% in Sept MAT exam. I have an offer from TCS also. So, I m confused that whether I should join B-school now or have an experience of 3-4 years and think of MBA. Can someone help me plzzz..????

MBA with work experience is always preferred. Also executive mba / distance mba is advancing at a fast pace and becoming more and more acceptable in the industry.

My suggestion would be to take up mba after gaining some industry exposure.

Hi,

As said by Kartik, Prior experience adds a lot of weightage to the profile and you can take full advantage of that, if you join an MBA program.

MBA with work-ex will give more return in boom time. else, you have work-ex or not doesn't matter much in Indian B-school. In that sense, work-ex with 4-5 yrs and have 1 yr executive MBA program is far better

Ideally MBA after work ex is the perfect combination. But you should keep in mind that once you start working it becomes really difficult to get back to studying.... So take this risk if you're sure that after 2-3 years you'll be able to get into one of the premier B-Schools. But if you have any doubts regarding that, its better to fetch a degree now. Keeping in mind the economic conditions prevailing , this is the best time to invest in education....

Hi abhijeet,
i would also suggest you to take industry exposure first and then go for executive MBA programs.I’d suggest you go through the UPES (Univ of Petroleum & Energy) website for its MBA program. It is a UGC approved university unlike many private institutes who are rapidly losing their deemed status. Its job prospects are too are bright and most importantly stable. You will get the entire details on their website Welcome to the University of Petroleum & Energy Studies, Dehradun, India.

hey i thnk u must join tcs infact doin furthr studies.. it wl b helpful wht if aftr 2 yrs d situations mus b chngd.. if u join studies rathr thn job, who knws d future markt.. i insist u to join tcs.. aftr al its an mnc... nt a bad offr to reject...

if ur working in a great company and see more oppotunity within .. executive mba - its for a shorter period an u done have to pay :)

Today study got importance as well as experience.Every one have to be more conscious about it work. As fast as you remove the tag of fresher that will be much better for you.So getting MBA as well as experience makes you more qualified .If you got post grad. degree with your experience then you get preference.Because every company want experience hand.Ex. MBA is got better scope.

Executive MBA courses are made for the senior executives, business owners and board members who want to add a feather in their caps. There are many complex business aspects that such a course covers.

Hi,
I think you should go for a work-ex for 1-2 yrs and then go for your mba. However also realise that many of the IT professionals are opting for MBA after 2-3 yrs of work ex and it becomes very difficult to differentiate yourself from them.

Also if you opt for Mktg/HR you will have to come out with very convincing answers about why you have opted for MBA during your PI of any college as it is becoming a trend that software professionals are getting bored with the monotony of the job. Unless you have a very clear answer, it will be difficult to satisfy the panel of any good B school.

So think about it and do the same

All the best

for doinf excecutive mba u shud have firm graso on corporate culture and their working
whereas 2 years mba starts with basic knowledge
