MBA DePaul University Kellstadt Graduate School of Business (Chicago)

Recognized for Academic Excellence
DePaul offers a high caliber, challenging learning environment that is respected by employers, community leaders and other universities. Many of our more than 200 graduate and undergraduate programs of study have earned national acclaim. Most importantly, more than 93 percent of employers report they are pleased with the caliber of DePaul graduates.

Hands-on Learning, Practical Knowledge
DePaul's location in Chicago provides countless opportunities for class projects, research, internships and experiential learning programs that bring theory to life. Students synthesize knowledge across multiple courses to solve problems, preparing them to succeed after graduation.

A Passion for Service and Social Justice
Our nationally ranked service-learning program integrates the service concept into our curriculum and inspires many students to make a lifelong commitment to service and social justice. They complement the university's own dedication to serving first-generation and underserved student populations and to addressing social issues through more than 45 specialized centers and institutes.

Capitalizing on Chicago Connections
DePaul's long-term partnerships throughout Chicago lead to extensive educational and career opportunities for students in the corporate, civic and cultural arenas. Our faculty, active in research and consulting, bring real-world experience into the classroom every day. Our students benefit from the networks of their professors, as well as the more than 82,000 alumni who live in the metropolitan area.

Focused on Teaching, Focused on Students
Teaching comes first at DePaul — more than 97 percent of all classes are taught by faculty members, not teaching assistants. Students are considered partners in research and community action, and are often credited by name in publications and presentations.

Open Doors Deepen Relationships
Because the average class has fewer than 30 students, our faculty members know their students' names, concerns and goals. Professors are accessible and approachable in class, through regular office hours and via e-mail.

A Global Society within the Classroom
Driven by a respect for the inherent dignity of all people, DePaul welcomes students and employees from all ethnicities, religions and backgrounds. By routinely incorporating multiple viewpoints into academic and student life, we have become a model of diversity on campus. In 2006, The Princeton Review ranked DePaul No. 1 in the nation in the "Diverse Student Population" category. We are proud to be among the top 100 universities in the nation for conferring degrees on students of color.

mission

This mission statement embodies the principal purposes of DePaul University. As such it is the nexus between past, present and future; the criterion against which plans are formulated and major decisions made; the bond which unites faculty, students, staff, alumni, and trustees as an academic community. As a university, DePaul pursues the preservation, enrichment, and transmission of knowledge and culture across a broad scope of academic disciplines. It treasures its deep roots in the wisdom nourished in Catholic universities from medieval times. The principal distinguishing marks of the university are its Catholic, Vincentian, and urban character.

Evening MBA

Pursuing an evening MBA at DePaul is the choice of over 1,800 working professionals in Chicago. And for good reason: it’s a flexible education that takes into account demanding careers and busy personal lives.

There are no minimum course requirements per quarter with a DePaul evening MBA. That means you can complete the program at your pace, as long as you complete it within six years. If work or personal conflicts arise, you can even take a break for a quarter. The average length of time most part-time students take to complete a DePaul evening MBA is two to three years. Full-time students typically complete the program in 12 to18 months.

The DePaul evening MBA is also designed for students with jobs outside of downtown Chicago where our Loop campus is located. Students can take classes at convenient suburban campus locations (Rolling Meadows, Naperville and O'Hare).

You can join the Evening program during any of our four academic terms each year: fall, winter, spring or summer.

Ranked in the Top 10 by U.S. News & World Report for more than a decade, DePaul's evening MBA program uniquely blends academic quality, pragmatic instruction, convenience and flexibility in a way that meets the needs of working professionals.

Customize your MBA experience through our career-focused curriculum. We offer a wide range of concentrations, each focused on a particular set of career-relevant skills, to enable you to choose those that best fit your unique career goals.

Through more than 50 years serving evening MBA students, we developed the flexibility and services to meet your needs as you mesh the responsibilities of your career, personal life and education.

Re: Benefits of an MBA

Benefits of an MBA

The MBA is designed as a broad-based program. Upon completion of the program, students will possess the analytical and theoretical tools essential to making sound decisions and solving business problems. The emphasis of the MBA program is on decision making as the characteristic function of business administrators. The program's purpose is to integrate the various functional areas of business and the contributions they make to the development of administrative competence. Students may also choose to pursue a greater level of knowledge in one area of business by focusing their elective courses in an area of concentration.

It is your responsibility to become familiar with the requirements in each course.
Online Learning Policies and Procedures

Class schedules are accessible via Campus Connection.
Attendance/participation for each course may vary depending on the faculty member and the format of the course. The attendance/participation policy is indicated on the syllabus available on the course Blackboard site. If you have any questions concerning attendance/participation, contact the faculty member for clarification.

Credit hours are the same for online and face-to-face courses. There is no distinction on your transcript.

Re: M.B.A./M.S.

M.B.A./M.S.

The business world requires professionals who are adaptable in many areas and possess more cross-functional knowledge than ever. Many DePaul students seek both the broad-based business expertise of an M.B.A and the in-depth knowledge of a specialized master’s degree. DePaul makes it easy for students to earn both, either sequentially or concurrently. A number of the special courses a student takes while earning a DePaul M.B.A may also count toward a specialized master degree, and vice versa. Students can complete both degrees with as few as six additional courses.
