Van Gaal's side just demonstrated solid enthusiasm for Depay at last, to such an extent that their donning chief was certain he was going to sign for Paris Saint-Germain.
United said by means of the club's official Twitter page: 'Manchester United has come to a concurrence with PSV Eindhoven & Memphis Depay for the player's exchange, subject to a medicinal.
'Pending the effective fulfillment of the medicinal, the arrangement will experience once the move window opens in June.'
Depay took to Twitter on Thursday evening and said: 'I'm to a great degree appreciative towards PSV, all the fans, Under Armor and SEG Football for putting stock in me.
'Presently now is the ideal time to set my objectives again on winning trophies with Manchester United.'
PSV manager Philip Cocu reported the move to his squad on Thursday morning.
On the other hand, brandishing executive Marcel Brands conceded he was astounded by the late move from Manchester, and says it was a 'tornado move'.
'On the off chance that you had asked me two days prior where Memphis was going to go I would have said PSG,' he told omroepbrabant.nl. 'The British were late with a solid offer.
"Really, there is just in the most recent 48 hours there is an exchange to Manchester United. It has turned into a hurricane move. Yet at the end of the day the player chooses where he needs to go. Furthermore, that is ended up Manchester.
