Management of Change - challenges

CET.....To bell or not to be bell is not the question...rather it’s how well we bell it....

Proposals on fixed weightage - Class 12 board exam results is well intended, yet needs speed governors

HRD ministry needs to handle this with high circumspection and sensitivity. They should not be culpable to the common syndrome of the causation fallacies known as oversimplification OR "reductive fallacy"

There are too many political dynamics that can tempt the ministry to do so..

Here, the challenge in hand is quite humongous and difficult if not impossible.

• Identifying an establishing the board which will become the national standard

• Thereupon bringing to equity the setting and assessment of papers in various state boards.

• Institutionalizing a process and Instrument of tuning and calibration

• Create a common buy across the various boards to appreciate and accept the standardization system

The present proposal is at best a hurriedly served - half cooked meat ....and does not look palatable.

No doubt large sections of IITians and parents are crying foul....

PS: Having anchored Performance Management System for over years though in a relatively smaller corporate space, I can visualize the nightmare this initiative can bring forth. Cast out by clarity and conviction, syndicating and synergizing the various stake holders to come to a common understanding and consensus....a real time challenge.
