Management Education in Rajasthan
Introduction
Study of management is among one of the sectors in Rajasthan that is enjoying rapid development. Over the last few years, opportunities for students who aspire to pursue career in management has grown manifold. With the increasing number of management institutes and improvement in the quality of education being imparted, local as well as multinational companies are finding the competence of management students in Rajasthan quite satisfactory. The proof of this fact is that most of the students are being hired directly through campus placement after completion of their management studies.
Eligibility
Apart from Common Admission Test (CAT), Management Aptitude Test (MAT) and other management tests, students in Rajasthan can also take Rajasthan Management Aptitude Test (RMAT) after completing graduation. A candidate should be a graduate (10 + 2 + 3) or equivalent from any recognized university with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC). However candidates who are appearing in the final year of their qualifying examination are also eligible to apply. The test is only for the Rajasthan students who want to go for management studies. Most of the management institutes in Rajasthan admit students in order of merit, which is prepared on the basis of marks obtained in RMAT. Candidates are required to register for the test only. Applying to institutes separately is not required.
Entrance Test
The Rajasthan Technical University conducts RMAT every year. There are about 67 MBA Colleges/Institutes affiliated to the University.
Syllabus
The RMAT paper consists of 200 questions consisting of Math, English, Reasoning and around 40-50 questions on GK. Time allotted is 2 hrs. The level of difficulty of questions is easy to very easy. The RMAT test does not have negative marking. RMAT-2007 was valid for 6 Government/Aided institutions and 52 Private/Unaided Institutes. Medium of question papers will be English.

FEES FOR MBA
The state government has constituted a state level fee committee for determination of fee structure for various technical courses including MBA. As per the directions of the state level fee committee, the interim fee structure for MBA course for the session 2006-07 was as under:-
Fee for the aided institutions - Rs. 18000/- per annum
Fee for the private un-aided Institutions and self-financed Courses in government aided institutions - Rs. 32000/- per annum
Caution Money to be deposited in first Year Only - Rs. 2000/- (Refundable)
