Bharti Enterprises' dynamic diversification has continued with the company venturing into telecom software development, insurance, horticulture exports, BPO, realty, etc. The group is also entering the fast-growing retail business very shortly.
Bharti Airtel Limited, the group's flagship company, has annualized revenues of approximately US$ 3.8 billion and a telecom subscriber base of over 28 million. The Enterprise Services group has two sub-units - Carriers (long distance services) and services to Corporates. All these services are provided under the brand "Airtel".
The "Beetel" brand of cordless telephones, fixed wireless terminals and set top boxes are manufactured at Bharti Teletech's facilities in Goa and Ludhiana.

We want to attract the top talent in the market, which is the 'best fit' for a dynamic organization like Bharti. Though some companies offer extremely attractive salaries, how much of this salary is the real take home amount is another issue as some students realize the hard way. The compensation that we offer has no hidden costs.
We do a compensation study every year, which is based on compensation trends, CTC analysis (last 5 years), projected increase and students' perceptions.
Based on the study, we offer an attractive compensation which is the amongst the top 25% percentile of the average B-school salaries at top-15 institutes of India. This is applicable for both the MBA & the CA institutes.

The program is divided into 4 cycles - 0-3 months, 3-6 months, 6-9 months and 9-12 months, which includes Central and Unit induction, cross-functional and functional projects, on the job assignments, Project Reviews, Mentoring Programs, Training and Development exposure, Generative Leadership program, appraisal & assessments.
The community is constantly in touch with the central and business YL Team and their progress is closely monitored. Their information and development is also shared on a monthly basis through a monthly newsletter, which also helps the previous year's YL's stay in touch.
The program emerges into a long leadership talent development program based on the Bharti Leader profile and the leadership competencies framework. This provides a source of in-house replacements for key leadership positions, a mean to attract top talent laterally, and therefore, deliver superior business performance.

The challenges include providing them enriching projects, engagement levels of YL's and evaluating them on a periodic basis, besides in a pan India presence such as ours, we do face issues related to creating the same experience for all the young leaders.

In order that the YL develops the capability and the competence to become the future leader of Bharti, the input at this stage is a structured intervention build around providing the YL an exposure in the area of Leadership development.
