Leadership is the step to develop specific skills required to be a successful supervisor, manager or leader of people at any level. By focusing on critical management skills we can identify specific skills for productive interactions between team members and team leaders. It is said from years that to be the best leader is to lead by example. Lending a helping hand to your followers and you can also make sure that the work you do should also be understood by them. A leader without passion isn’t a leader. Also that doesn’t mean that you need to be cheery always.

Another important trait that leaders are known for is their organization skills and the way they mange things easily. A disorganized leader isn’t leading hes chasing his own tail. Disorganization breeds nothing but more disorganization.

The delegation power that a leader possesses should be in built and the skill should be butter smooth. As far as ownership and responsibility is concerned you need to take it all the time. That doesn’t mean you absolve people from making mistakes or ignore crappy work/effort, but it does mean you take responsibility for the big picture. Communication is what leaders are known for the best. Uninterested leaders cut things off too quickly. Leaders are brave.

Continuous innovation and constant improvement in quality requires more and more effort from workers, who are constantly up against new technologies, cultural changes, and intense international competition.

If we stop to think for a moment, we will conclude that not all of this modern explosion and changes in working habits comes exclusively from an ever changing technology, but also from the creative performance of people.

People are the real force behind this transformation, and it is the people that are paving the way towards the new millennium.

It is the consistent display of these characteristics that renders success but be careful not to confuse consistency with perfection. They are not synonymous. Consistency takes courage. Perfection is an unattainable ideal and a veil worn by pride to justify procrastination and mediocrity.

There are three types of authority.

Authority granted by position: here we include the title, the position occupied in the company, and the power bestowed on a person.

Authority of personality: These are natural influential qualities, where the leader is recognized by others because of his behavior and mode of action.

Authority of knowledge. In this type of authority, we count on technical and professional know-how, apart from other types of knowledge that are essential in certain areas.

The true leader is a person that can adapt himself to many different situations, and never stops learning. He is always interacting with people, and getting everyone to work together with a common vision, so as to produce fantastic results. People will follow him without even recognizing they have taken on the role of follower… this is what makes the leader different from the others.

Leadership is the foundation for all organizations, whether corporate, nonprofit or government. Leadership is a high calling and responsibility, upon which all else the organization is or does rests. Moreover, leadership is always top down, never bottom up.

Therefore, much has been written on the subject of leadership and many writers and speakers have tried to list those attributes they believe are essential for leaders. However most often these attempts focus upon traits that make a leader personable, affable and popular. The following six attributes are results of character and personal integrity and as such are deeply seated within those who possess them. They must be developed through self-discipline, time and pressure; they are not inherited; and cannot not feigned, at least not for long. Such attributes are the result of instruction, commitment and a deep concern for what is right, as well as for the best interests of others. They are modeled on a daily basis. Tested and proven in times of trial and adversity. Moreover, they are as precious as gold and equally rare.
