Leadership today has become a very multi meaning term.

The most important thing you do is LEAD your people. You manage, advise, teach, decide, direct. Leaders seize the opportunity and use it efficently to attain excellence.

Leaders dont merely supervise, they create sense and direction to persons who follows them. Organisations can build leaders that nurtures and supports development. If there is no such environment , then their culture needs to change to create the same.But, this may not be possible without good leadership.

The essentials of leadership today, in order to be effective, successfull and sustaining in such corporate governance may be...

1) Do what's right.. legally or morally

2) Tell the truth.. however, bitter it may be..

3) Take bigger risk..afterall risk=success

4) Be optimistic in whatever you do

5) Have a never give up attitude

6) Treat others as you would like others to treat you..

7) Be focus, should be able to deal spontaneously with rapid change.

8) give others full attention so that they are motivated..
 
Leadership is an essential quality in the modern times, majority of the people are having a quite number of the worthy ideas but due to the lack of leadership skills they are unable to implement it. So in a way it also ensures success in all our endeavors.
 
Today's Leadership is the leadership for the Self purpose, Self Profit,etc
If we want to go for real leadrship then we have to study the charracter like
Mahatma Ghandi, Bhaghat singh, Sardar ValabhBhai Patel ,etc...

KEYS TO BECOME A GOOD LEADER:
* Educate people for a global world. The U.S. is still focused on the West.
* Don`t forget the liberal arts. Think.
* Ask people to help. People want to gather together, be involved, volunteer, help.
* Build the following: a sound financial system, an energy policy, a health care system.
* Be accountable for results.
* Balance right brain and left brain thinking.
* Encourage a culture of acknowledging mistakes.
* Knowing is not nearly as important as learning.
* Expect unpredictability.
* Be willing to make decisions and stand by them.
* Communication.
* Transparency.
* Ideas are good, but execution is absolutely everything.
* Character. You know it when you see it.
 
inspite of all these things emotional intelligence is very important where the leader has to control the emotions and also emotions of the team...and the qualities will comeout depending on the situation
