Hey,
We have a project wer in we have to launch mineral water that comes in glasses(used during weddings in urban areas). However, we are goin Rural to launch it.
So, if any one has any good ideas or strategy please post it.

if yes than u can go the Pepsi way wid a lid and a straw thingy...
coz noone will buy a mineral water which aint hygenic...i mean u plan to sell it in glasses so u shud b more careful wid the Hygenic factor...u can go on by saying tht u have acquired the FDA certification fr the product...
A tagline wich appeals to the rural population wud benefit u n it shud be in the regional language..

but most importantly as u have decided to go rural u need to focus on "Why RURAL POPULATION which constitutes a majority of population who live below poverty line buy ur product??"

hi buddy....well if you are lookimg to launch the product in the rural market...remember that people there wont consider buying the Water...as they feel that it would be baseless to spend money on Water...and that if you plan to pack it in Thermocol Glasses....then this would be termed as Nothing short than Gambling...lets have a proper view..........when we speak of rual areas...it will be preferred if you offer them a clone of Colas sa in sweetend of flavored Water...only then will lure the people.....and forget the aspect of Availibility........as if your product is good ..then it has to definitely sell.......


Jus tgo thrugh one very good Article on MP.....of Lalu Brand..as in people have namedtheir products on Lalu prasad...and they selling like hot cakes.....

Thanx for the replies but the mineral water in no being launched in thermocol glasses but plastic glasses that packed and normally used during weddings.

yup buddy....but there are 2 problems in this case......if you are selling mineral water..then you should sell it in opaque glasses...as in people should be able to view it..or they wont buy it....

and if you are selling sweetend water...or flavored water..then only can you think of selling it in transperant glasses.....got it...

changin d taste will not help much but follow d stratergies..of goin rural..den doin ad will affect on ur sales cause water is a basic need...n its need in rural is not much cause ppl drink frm well....n der r very few shops in rural so it will really not help u much its better u change ur prdt n let me no if u?.......bye tc n best of luck

arre buddy selling only water wont at all help in rural areas...if that had been the case....why is that Bisleri is not sold in rural markets...

If its rural markets , you need to realise consumer behaviour.

The most recent P added in marketing is " Pan wallas "

My cousin has a karyana shop in village. According to what he says, people spend more time in a pan soda bidi shop than at home.

Also, the most selling item there is water pouch . People there dont like to carry bottles. Also they like cold water but many dont have refrigerators.

Availablity, affordability and accessibility all these points taken into consideration a branded cheap water pouch will sell more than a bisleri bottle.

it is a good concept to expand mrkt in rural area but packaged water is not feasibile idea as it require a lot of efforts in creating awareness for this prdt still today villagers use to drink water from a well .

you should analyze that whether people in rural areas buy mineral water. find their income level i think in rural areas is not the good idea
