Kindergarten is 5 years of age?

At that age of 5 for kindergarten, these little cute peeps are still wetting the bed at night, scared to sleep in their own bed, and longing for Mom when they start kindergarten classes. Why on earth would they need to know what the different body parts are from a school nurse and then at age 6 what an anal is and that some prefer to use it for sexual pleasure? All they need to know at that age, is it is needed for sitting on the pot and doing their business.

Teaching them actual skills such as computer, arithmetic and foreign languages is where the time should be used wisely during this young age IMO. For example, it is a known fact that teaching children at an age of 3 a foreign language places them further advanced in their metalinguistic awareness and ability. What possible advancement could they receive from learning about sex at this age? But that's the American public school system for us.

While you feel the age of 13 is too old to learn about sex, I guess I feel 5 years is too young

I would actually be scared for the future of such kids who are being taugh about sex at the age of 5. While I do agree that Sex-education should be made a mandatory part of school curriculum, but only at the appropriate age. At the age of five, a child shouldn't have to worry about things like sex.

As the parent of a 5-year-old, the next big stage you'll see in your child's development is most likely the preparation for, and adjustment to, the routine of attending school, since this is the age that most children go to kindergarten. This transition remains an important focus for families, even if their children have already been exposed to preschool. Not only is school a focal point in a 5-year-old's life, but so are social relationships.
