Kids Under 13 Shouldn't be Allowed to Join Facebook

Facebook and other social media should be treated like any other very public place where any sort of person can roam freely and interact in whatever way they like with your children. The difference is that you can't evaluate someone based on the normal clues we get in real life about someone - body language, other paralinguistic cues, and even how old someone looks - that we all use every day to determine whether or not we should be interacting with a given person. Online, you can post whatever pictures you want of "yourself" and give people all sorts of false information - including your age - that nobody has any way to verify. The random 14 year old girl who just struck up a conversation with your child after helping them out with Mafia Wars (and what child should be exposed to that sort of game, I ask?) could be a 47 year old man who's typing one-handed and scheming for a way to get your son or daughter to meet them IRL.

your case must be an exception, but we can see a general and common problem arising out of use of social media at an early age. Very important among this is students' addiction and becoming pre-mature because of all this. Then how can we manage a mature person with a pre-mature person, both would decode a particular content so differently on a -social networking website. I think it would put a bad impact on the child's overall development!
