Kellogs case in india

according to me it was the result of FAULTY ADVERTISING...wen kellogs came in india it was a concept of eating kellogs with cold milk...now can u think a plcae like india where ppl beleive in drinking healthy food and hot milk in the morning will except the kellogs.............well ppl working 4 kellogs forgot they were selling their product in "INDIA"and not in their country...

another ex.was that of MILKMAID wherin at first it advertised with a concept of A GOOD SUBSTITUTE 4 MILK..it did not work in india..then they came up with a new concept of using it WHILE MAKING SWEETS..

I think tat its a classic case of not don the homework properly. Kellogs hsould be knowing (had they done mkt research properly) that Indians like their corn flakes with hot milk, and customized its product accordingly. However, when kellogs re-entered india, it was well prepared !

Kellogs did exactly what many foreign brands tried to do in India and failed. It tried to feed the same product to India which it developed 4 the western nations. Precsely an attempt to replicate the results it had in the foreign markets with Indian market . it truly did not consider the need bracket and the difference in lifestyle that Indian folks maintain .Hence as someone said was faulty at MARKET RESEARCH

However , 4 Milkmaid I think it tried nthng but finding alternative usages of its own product. To prevent itself from entering the matured stage , it attempted to innovate its processes n hence developed this kind of a product

I think initial hiccups in kellogg`s indian dream owes to faulty market research. Kelloggs experience clearly lays down that howsoever big a brand is, before entering into any new market, the company should try to do a customized research to understand the market well..

kellogg's K cereal strategy...

Kellogg’s now attempts to woo women with its new brand, Special K, even as it focuses on strengthening distribution.

I think the reason for the failure of Kelloges in India was due to the wrong positioning of the product into the minds of the consumers in India.

i think it was the absence of pasteurized milk...thth did em...!o cruuch in the bite nd indians were like wat the hell isse achha toh daliya hi tha...!

hhm......ich whihc is that your using to go ahead all over the place and it is no t roight ahem ahem ahme ahem ahem ....smiley lacheter mahanu sepatu waji fhutuer sepate hs ish thy sje

hey i think that kellogs definately failed due to a lack of cultural knowledge in India. yet they still went aheah not knowing that India dont usually have breakfast.

Kelloggs

Hi All,

I am doing a dissertation on westernised multinationals failing in India wtih my main focus on kelloggs. Is it possible for some people to give me some detailed or some reasons why kelloggs failed in India. I know some reviews are posted but i would like a little more depth on the reasons.

Thankyou
