JBIMS proudly conducted Strategym 2013 which was [/b]scheduled to be held at the Convocation Hall, University of Mumbai on 12th March 2013. The theme for 17th edition of Strategym 2013 is 'Reforming the Indian Economy - Creating hope for people in times of policy paralysis'[/b].
Ideas, Innovations, Solutions … three words which will impact the way corporate decision making is seen in the industry today. That’s what Strategym – the Annual Business Convention of JBIMS[/b] - is all about. It is about providing a whole new approach to the age old problem faced by the industry and bring about a paradigm shift in the way various business situations are perceived in a fast changing business arena.
Strategym, since its inception in 1995 has provided a cutting edge to business through innovative ideas and solutions in the unexplored areas of management disciplines. The fresh and innovative perspectives of youth are congregated with the expertise and experience of luminaries of the corporate world. The papers presented at the convention focus on the current industry problems and spawn innovative solutions, and they go through a stringent screening before being presented at Strategym where they are adjudged by invited industry experts and prominent faculty members.
This year, at Strategym 2013, the selection of papers to be presented includes diverse topics such as railways, solar power, health care, direct cash transfer and farmer credit. While in one paper the students are suggesting innovative ways to turnaround Indian Railways in a strategic manner, another set of students are working on making health care affordable to the common man. Another paper critically analyses the direct cash transfer mechanism and provides certain suggestions and improvements in the implementation. Besides these, there are papers on tapping the potential of solar pumps in irrigation and extending credit to farmers to foster rural
entrepreneurship.
The event proves to be a medium to unleash the potential of the young minds and provides them the platform to make their presence felt at the corporate level. Strategym holds the promise of being a portal for the exchange of ideas between the students and the executive world.
