Is the government's scheme of raising unwanted girl children a good idea?

This will definitely add to more worries for the government,in a country where people dont think twice before abandoning or killing there unwanted female child the announcement of such a scheme will only lead to more trouble for the government.
 
I feel it is a very good topic to discuss and to find a beneficial conclusion out of it.... Let us first think the problems that we currently face....

Decreasing SEX RATIO and Increasing Female Infanticide... To counter these 2 problems, it is necessary that the girl child should live... and hence some sort of security should be provided. The only way that the govt. can go ahead would be to set up orphanges but putting certain CONDITIONS...

I think it would be more useful discussion if we can figure out and discuss these conditions...
 
its obvious that our government is helpless with its weak attempt to educate all n raise the standard of living of this huge population. Only a certain fraction of people are benefited by govtn's service.
But this step is to an extent has become neccessary becoz even today they ruthlessly kill girl child. and thats y we can clearly see y people from haryana are buying brides from south india.
Once my maid said to me that... A NEW BORN BABY GIRL WAS KILLED BY PRESSING HARD AGAINST HER CHEST TILL BLOOD CAME OUT OF HER NOSE IN HER VILLAGE. this shows the real heartless india.
talk to most of the poor or layman n surprisingly many hod the same opinion.
IF SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE THEN IT HAS TO DESTROY THE ROOTS. AND ITS MAIN ROOT IS NONE OTHER THAN OUR VERY OWN """" DOWRY""""" sO GOVTN SHOULD FIRST STRONGLY IMPLEMENT IT PRACTICALLY WITH A SEVERE PUNISHMENT

who would marry them if they are raised in a govt institution haven't the elder generation created enuf difference over caste and family status.
this will just help ppl take their responsibility lightly

Well atleast they will survive and live... Marriage should not be the criteria why a girl child should live or not... More importantly they should be given a good environment and made self dependent.

WHAT IS A GOVT JOB?

WHN THERE IS NO ELECTRICITY, ATER...GOVT IS TO BE BLAMED...thats fine as the distribution in tehre hands...WHN THERE IS LAWLESSNESS ...GOVT IS BLEAMED...again agreed to an extent as they have duty to maintain law and order...BUT INFANTICIDE OR FOETICIDE OF GIRLS...IS THE GOVT REALLY TO BE BLAMED FR IT???
isn't it bad to expect so many things from jus a few thousands, half of which have no powers???
am nt defending anyone!! but the answer to these problems is this only...
WE ARE GOING TO BECOME PARENTS TOMORROW,IF WE OURSELF WILL NT KILL OUR CHILD, THEN WHR WILL THIS KILLING HAPPENS???hw loong and hw many families will a govt look fr care???

may be today they can open one orphanage, but hw many???abt those killing lemme be clear nad precise... frget abt those gareeb families..many of our batchmates..so called modern girls do go fr pre-marital abortion!! do they have any explaination fr taht?ya uske liye bhi govt is responsible?i have seen high society families( professionally literate)going fr sex determination and then abortion...
abt rapes and abduction in past many years car rapes have increased like naything.. do a poor family chap can really afford a car jus to lift an innocent soul off the road then showing his so called manly-ness on a unarmed girl???
so nthing like orphanage can carb it,,i guess the only solution is to

educate everyone, literacy only will nt help!!!

I think its a good idea. Atleast government is taking measures to take care of unwanted girl child. This would have being never case if that child was with her parents as according them it is "unwanted"....
 
It is the mentality of the people that is needed to be changed. I think now the majority of the people are accepting the fact that the girl child can work in the same way as the Boy. There is no counter solution to the problem providing security will be only short term phenomenon. The measures adopted by the government such as girl's right to claim the property of the father and the 33% reservation of the women will address the problem in a better way.

It was the Mentality of our old ruler as the boy can only control the military power of the huge masses and girl are weak that lead to the rejection of the girl child.
