I am currently studying in uk and to be honest only if u get in top 20 univ do think of coming here coz wat u see from there is not wat u get here to be honest its worth studying in india ...... trust me talking abt the job scene its very dull in uk and i again say INDIA IS THE BEST For Studies ......
Khusboo Think twice b4 coming to uk.. this is a very honest suggestion to you . trust me if i would have someone suggesting me before i would have arrived i would have never come .. but was not lucky to have known this site nor anything abt here . Honestly study in india.... thats wat i feel people can put in comments

Hey rajiv why dont u provide a ranking on top 20 down there..!! As you would be gettin your hands on more primary data rather than here..!!

Hi bhavin you might be rightby the way guys i am already in uk doin my mba from not an excellent uni and our uni does not have a campus placement as well however i have heard that the companies in india do not accept some universities as well is that correct and now in my case the job scene is real difficult here in uk so guys wat u guys have to say now ??? pls post in ur comments genuinely let me know that is it true that the indian companies does not recoganise ???

hi rajiv,

according to my knowledge, its not tht they dont recognize but its said tht when they get students from indian colleges, they dont tend to offer you the salary which they do to the students studying in india... thts why it is said tht its not worth studying abroad... bcoz you cant get the amount you put to study there...

i m not sure whether this is true but this is what some of the coaching class ppl told me... and even some counsellors told me tht even if you get work permit in UK its not sure whether you get a nice post to work... you may just join some call centre or similar workplace... so guys please think 100 times and consult best of ppl before going abroad for studies... i m doing the same...

hi, its worth studying in abroad rather than in india. since many gud co give previlege to abroad returned students rather then indian student studying in india.in abroad it takes less time to do mba if, rather than in india. ya it is gud if a sudent want to study abraod go in a gud renowed unversity.

Nah man rajiv i dont think thats the case.. If u wanna get a real taste of it jst go to naukri.com and put ur resume down there.. of course u neeed good credentials to get but thts globally even if u pass out frm indian b-school u need good credentials to get ur job..!!
After u created the profile make another profile with the same credentials and take an indian univ which u think would be equivalent to ur univ..

Jst check out the diff of jobs and positions u get and even keep a track on hw many job offers u get in each..!!

Try this for cpl weeks and let us knw.. Wtz da result..!!

Experiment urself gives u an edge in understandin rather than jst following others..!!:SugarwareZ-299:

Hi bhavin ,
I think i will do that and let u know , but again i would recommend not to come abroad specially uk for MBA .... coz i am experiencing it trust me ....

i think yes it is worth studying in india. though indian universities cannot be compared 2 harvard and stamford, the level of education in india is definately booming. the universities are of late also offering various courses of professional nature. if u are an indian and wanna stay here in future, indian education will definately help. u get to know the indian industry minutely by studying from india.

now if u wanna go for MBA programme, then definately better go 2 USA or UK. their 2nd grade colleges are also compared 2 india's best colleges. plus UK MBA is only a year's course whereas indian MBA is twice. going global for MBA is much easier than getting into IIM'S

hi rajiv,

i think i will prefer going to UK only with 2yrs of work experience... it is better to do tht instead of going now and returning with nothing in my hands... hope you get a nice job... did you try bhavin's idea of putting your resume on jobsahead.com??? do let me kno abt it...

best of luck for your studies...

The main problem is that the education in India lacks, either due to resources, quality faculty or simply lack of modern methods. When u see the same available in foreign with much lesser competition, u are naturally inclined to study abroad. What we need is a proper infrastructure. Considering the no. of seats the IIMs offer as compared to the the amount of competition, the ratio is ridiculously hap hazard. IIMs, per se, have maintained their own reasons for not increasing the seats... Even the quality of the faculty and the facilities in many IIMs lacks severly... calcutta being one of them.

When we see so much or so many problems, even in the most sought after institutions, how can u expect the others to provide it. I think, the govt. should seriously reconsider the funding and proper channelising of the resources as compared to the foreign standards. When we can take examples from the west, for so many things, education should also be considered.

Well i spent 6 years in Uk already and i have been living, travelling in Europe since past three years i would say still Indian education is valued all around. No offence but I don’t think studying in Uk, Usa makes a huge difference although i know degrees are worth it and better recognised around the world. However, don’t think life over here is easy you have to work, study and do everything which you haven’t done when you lived with your parents lol . Never predict there is no competition because there is 100% competition. I have come across many people coming from india in the beginning who had hard time to fit in. Most of the students end up spending their families saving end of the day and still couldn’t keep up with many deadlines here. There is a huge difference in life. I would recommend you if you think you are strong enough to hold yourself then go for it. Recently my friend who came from India to do Mba paid 12000 pounds + expenses still couldn’t save a penny and regularly says I have to pay back my dad the money I took of him and I couldn’t afford anything else than paying my rent only. If you ever heard some one saying this is a cruel world i think when you come here you will know the meaning of it. Most people think oh money and easy life but i think if you think realistically people living in india can afford more than Indian/britisher, Or Indian/Americans. People here end up paying all their money in bills and living life on credit cards. I am telling this cuz i experienced it myself and i would like to leave Europe ASAP after my graduation.... funny but true i am thinking of moving to Dubai...lol ....sick of paying bills & meeting heartless people

Absolutely correct... no place better than mumbai..

Its a very good topic for a discussion

though I would like to highlight some points out here

1) PLACEMENTS

Placements from the IIMs range salaries upto 4 to 34 lacks MAX

But how abt a placement from an abroad university. How much value does a foreign degree has in India ?

Also we get the placements in the abroad country itself.

2) COST

Also the cost considering the Fees abroad and in India (TOOO HIGH)
