Is it a good idea to start a company soon after graduation

no.
you need some field experience.
work for couple of years at least in the sector you intend to start a company.

new ideas are generated most by someone who is fresh and not beaten down by the corporate world. So i really think it is a great idea..

As every one know there has been hiring freeze going on everywhere around the world. Leave aside those experienced people. Lets think about freshers. Look at Google, Facebook and many other big corporations. They too started their respective companies when they were still in college. So is it a good idea for young graduates to start their own start up in these difficult times.

Personally for me, there is no particular timing to start a business...but to make it sustainable, to build the business and establish as a good brand in the market - it takes years of effort and whole lot of things

your commitment to the idea/business - staying focused
good core team with passion and expertise
right resources at right time and
stay connected with right people at right time (this makes major difference in business)

these are just few thoughts

Well considering the present economic melt down and the fact that most of the companies follow strict measures in laying off their employees, it would be a wise idea to start an organization! However, is it wise to form an organization soon after one's graduation? I personally opine that experience backed up with knowledge (Education/Graduation) will help an individual to succeed in any business. The actual concern is not about starting an organization but to sustain one's business in this competitive market!

So, are you happy? Are you truly content? Or are there many things that you wish you could change? Do you wish you had a better job? A better girlfriend or boyfriend, wife or husband? A better place to live? A nicer car? Are there other changes you anticipate in your life which should give you happiness after having accomplished or achieved them?

Let's face it, if you are still hoping for happiness, it means you don't have it. Sure, sure, maybe things are OK and not too bad. Maybe you need to appreciate what you have more than you do. We all need to do that. Yet, maybe you are still hoping for improvements, substantial changes. However, just trying to be satisfied with what we already have doesn't mean we have to stagnate, or merely act like everything is just fine. And if you haven't found the spontaneous or self-sufficient happiness that you would like by now, maybe you do not know where to find it. So where are we supposed to look?
or there

Friend,
First and foremost - starting a business is a gr8 idea-give urself a pat on ur back. There are only few ppl who think about starting a new venture and only handful who make their dreams a reality. There is no hard and fast rule that you have to start ur business only after graduation.Today graduation doesn't teach u anyting. But very confident about ur business - how it can make a difference to ur customers and what will be the practical value it can create to tomorrow's world. Most importantly u must be patient and should be determinant to reap the benefits of ur venture. So I would suggest if u r clear in ur pursuit then the world is there to help you.

Wish u gud Luck

well its good to start the company after graduation but truly speaking to run it successfully the ability one gets only after doing master degree. but at the same time its not generalise one who is born in business class family may get it inherent in him to run business

I think it will be very hard for a fresh graduate to start on his/her own company during this economic crisis for the following reasons: 1.) It is difficult to gather resources since there is crisis 2.) Lack of experience of managing and engaging in a company or corporate responsibilities, because of that it might lead to early bankruptcy or down of the company.

Okay I am graduating in the summer so I’m going to start applying for work soon. I am presently working as an intern with the department of treasury and I have been here 6 years (since I was a junior in high school). Once I graduate I will not be allowed to work here anymore (something about they have to hire another intern even though they love my work and do not want me to leave) that’s straight BS but what can I do about it. Anyways I have experience as a financial clerk, support staff, as well as examining 2 national banks. Right now, my g.p.a is 2.60. Most companies ask for a 3.0 g.p.a for their undergrad graduates program. Should I just apply for experienced hires, the undergrad graduates program, or both?
Thanks.......

THINKING PROCESS IS NOT DEPEND ON EDUCATION.
if person think that he/she is capable to start a company then why not.

...

emm i think this is interesting thread...n my opinion i think if the fresh one have skill and their idea of a business, they can try it...but in this case they must sure their business is unique, not the usual one...and they must plan it properly,if not that business will not maintain longer...

Starting a company right after graduation is not a good idea.
1. You can work for some time and earn enough capital for your venture.
2. You also gain insight into how businesses are run

hey if u belong to business family where all of them have huge amt of experience than only you should start a company.ur idea for selling a product should be unique as well as substitue to other keeping in mind various features.

Its not a talk abt what's r8 or wrong, but its wat u need to have somethin in mind bfore...to make use of the idea..u need to find proper time and luck
