Even with so many new years in India we all still enjoy 31st December with the same enthusiasm. It’s a time when everyone start making plans months before. We all have different way of celebrating this day that can be either with family or with friends. Mumbai being developed so much there are many restaurant where you can go and enjoy with family or people organize parties so that everyone can come together to enjoy. The choice is theirs. But on this day when the whole world celebrates do we ever think of the problems we cause to the society unknowingly. We think it is the day of celebration and we will celebrate the way we want it. If you ask the question how does 31st celebration affect the society? The answer is first when:
1) When you drink and drive.
2) When you arrange for a party and put on loud music
3) Till today we need police for naka bandhi in areas like juhu or marine drive
We all today have the basic education of how do we behave than why on such a good day we welcome by causing pain to others. It was surprising to me when I saw a group of boys partying down in colony with drinks. They didn’t even once think there are kids all over we shoudn’t be drinking in front of them. Are we teaching such lessons to the kids.. The liquor shops were allowing people to drink in the shop. What impression will these create to others who feel it as a taboo? The police are kept on naka bandhi so that there is no problem in law and order but if we enjoy our 31st in a peaceful way don’t you feel this Policemen would be proud in working for a city who enjoys within themselves not causing any danger to public life. Policeman also have the full right to enjoy with their family and friends and not to stand to guard problematic areas. In Mumbai celebration is always done in the most glamorous way but this should not be affecting the other Mumbaikars. On 31st it is very common to see accidents, people drinking and fighting and there are many people who drink openly on the road because they must have not got any other place. Due to such reasons we still need someone to look after us in a khakee uniform and a stick. The scene that happened outside J.W,Mariott after that do you think any of the parents would feel safe to sent their daughter outside the houses? We really need to change the conceptions of 31st. I totally agree that every person has the right to enjoy 31st in their own way. Their way should not affecting the public. So next time promise yourself that every person has the right to celebrate New year in their way and I won’t act as a trouble to anyone. And with this promise nor will you be able to enjoy but you will have double happiness that due to your promise someone else in some other place is enjoying.
