Friends out here I want to ask you all about the involvement of media in cricket...
Don't you think because of this politics is being played?
Just after taking example of India Australia Test Match... due to blunders being made in regard of umpires decisions and also of the Harbhajan Ban of 3 Test Matches..... Media is again and again highlighting this to increase the TRP and in result to which the game spirit is changed into political agenda....
In the above example itself some of the news channels were stating: What would BCCI do after this decision..... This is a case of showing Indians down.... and blah blah blah....
After this conversation the game is now being seen fight among BCCI, ICC and Cricket Australia....
Is it correct...
Do you think the true game spirit is being harmed....
What are your views....

As a media their role is to present the things / news in front of you.

But the way of presentation is not correct.

i.e. the things r represented with effects, Highlights - the things should be presented in the orignal manner without showing your own views

Also if we talk about Yuvraj & Deepika's issue,
I don't think that this should be highlited to much,
stop pepering/seek into personal life

Give your opinion.

Media involvement in this cricket controversy is acceptable. But the
media is involved only in this issue for the last 2 days.I could say media have
gone mad to the extent of chasing all the Ex-cricketers in India and asking
their opinion on this issue.I couldn't hear any other news in the news
channels.Media is there to bring the news to the table bt mad chase behind only
one issue is nt advisable.Other world issues have been overlooked. But
thankfully the cricket controversy ended so that media can atleast peek out of
Aus and see what is happening in other parts of the world.

i think media is doing its duty ...its duty is to report what is happening and sometime give direction to people's thinkinng ..one might never actually realize the iimportance of the news until media stresses on it and people become aware saying this i also elieve that media should not be biased.

Hi!
I feel that the media has always got the right to report the current and true events, however,i doubt whether they can be given the right to analyse those events. They should always bring the views of the "experts" in the respective fields to the common people. They cannot become experts themselves and analyse the situation on their own.

I agree that media often exagerate the matters for publicity...but at the same time this cricket issue needed to be given special highlight as it was not just confined to being a news issue rather it was a matter of a big unjust which was very much apparent.....however moulding the news for TRP is not justified..

It is absolutely right that media is not only attentive to the fact that cricket is most watched sport than any other but also emotions of many supporters are also attached to it.......media is certainly taking the due advantage of uni-dimensional sport structure.......
But I feel there must be some credibility rests on BCCI to not exaggerate the controversy but take dual concrete approach with ACB and probably this is d best way to go........:SugarwareZ-098:

Hm....... yes media is over encroaching into public life now a days not only in cricket it is doing same in other things also they forgot the duties of them and started doing stupid things for increasing their TRP ratings and sad thing is that they ignore the important issues and over propagate issues as u all mentioned

what media does ? it only provides the glam and sham part ,rest is always within the game ... ?look at any game or area where there is an absence of media we see the absense of viewers ,sponsors etc.and in the end game itself suffers and at last subsides.just take an example of hockey how many indians basically know about the rules of the game ......very less. in turn we see that people are loosing interest in the game and in other hand players feel demotivated and in last the game suffers.suffers because the coming generation starts siding the game slowly and steadily because of lack of recognition name, fame etc.on the other hand we see taht every day new name emerges in indian cricket ,it is because the media has projected it as most attractive ,earning, job anyone can get .and this always motivates people to move in that direction only thus game never lacks the enthusiasm, blood,or any other thing which would kill it.
if we talk about the spirit of the game it is always there .. within the game within the players and it cannot be hampered because of media.can u think sachin, kapil, kumble etc. to be unspirited ?

well........this is purely a chance of encashing the feeling and emotions of Indians, which MEDIA is doing in a very perfect and polished way.

Unnecessary they making and giving it a hype ............so that they can boost their TRPs and hence their Profits.

Nothing they will ever do to improve on the feelings..........if u want ...as they say Media is having that much power that they can shake the world...........why had they failed in just shaking the Australia........our poeple faced so many indiscrimination there.............wat they were doing.......

Earlier, Dr. Haneef from banglore who was in Australia, publicised as Terrorist............at that time where were they....

Media had done few great things, but is doing useless things and hance making the essence of news to fall down.

i also agree with this that media usually shows off a thing in totally different direction... they just do this so as to increase the trp and the advertisement so that they may earn more and more profit..
