Health professionals agree that high levels of alcohol consumption are bad for individuals and society. Individuals who drink heavily may become alcoholics, dependent upon alcohol and unable to function effectively in society.

Minimum pricing can be a disadvantage.As there will be increase in cases of drunk driving,alcohol dependency,social issues,physical violence in family.As the prices of alcohol are reduced it can be a added advantage for drunkards as they can buy their daily dose quota more easily.So in turn if there is high pricing on alcohol the drink rate might decrease gradually.
