Intensive Routes for Becoming an Electrician

Becoming an Electrician is a desirable goal for a lot of people in 2015 due to the increasing demand for domestic electricians. Some companies offer people intensive courses to take in order to give them the experience and qualifications needed to work as a domestic electrician. Most of these courses are a combination of practical and theory based training in unique facilities across the UK. The duration of the intensive route is on average around 3 weeks, which will include the following courses:

17th Edition Course

Part P Course

Level 2 Inspection and Testing Course

An example of one of these routes can be seen by Electrician Courses 4U, an electrical training company in East Sussex. They have put together a course known as the 'Domestic Electrician Course', which consists of a Key Stage course to give you the knowledge needed for the next week, which is the Level 2 Inspection and Testing course, followed by the Part P course, followed by the 17th Edition wiring regulations course. They also offer a 'Domestic Electrician Package Course', which offers the above and an extra week known as 'Experience Week', allowing you to practise everything you've learnt in your course and gain extra knowledge on starting up your own business and how to market yourself as a sole-trader or small business.

Becoming an Electrician through the use of intensive courses is a great alternative to going down the 4 year apprenticeship route, which requires you to gain some of the qualifications offered in the intensive route. So if you're considering this career path or would like to re-train, consider this route as your saviour for 2015.
