The National Marketing Summit
The preparations are on in full swing at IIM-Ahmedabad to stage the national level Marketing summit – Insight 2011, in association with Central Bank of India and AC Neilsen. With participation from over a 100 B-Schools from all over India, and a footfall of over 10,000 from the “Amdavadi junta”, the event is expected to reach a unprecedented scale this year with new events, greater reach and a grander stage of competition.
Insight is the oldest event at the IIM-A campus and has been held for the last 18 years. With a focus on marketing and specifically market research, Insight brings to the table corporate focused research, social initiatives based studies and also specific focus on marketing innovation in start-ups. There are not only several events catering to this, but also the Insight fair which stands as a testing ground for research on various consumer segments.
With increasing focus on online media and also the youth consumer segment, there are many events catering to this segment. Further, with social media being the new buzz-word in marketing circles, there would be several talks and debates on this topic.
Apart from the regular fair, the AC Nielsen workshop and student-industry consulting which feature every year, there are several new events being taken up this year. With 7 new events being launched this year to be held over the two days of the fest, Insight has much more to offer even to the regular visitors. The main events being taken up are Productomania, held in association with CIIE - Centre for Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship, Social revelation, which brings together NGOs and the biggest new initiative, the AC- Nielsen marketing research workshop.
Productomania brings to the fore the marketing study of 17 new start-ups from various fields. Social revelation attempts to make a social impact through work on the visibility and marketing plans of several NGOs. But what is attracting the most attention this year is the AC Neilsen workshop which promises the winners a large cash prize, an invite to AC Nielsen’s Consumer 360 research conference and a chance to work with AC Nielsen.
With a corporate participation from companies like Central Bank of India, Flipkart and Arvind Brands, Insight this year has seen a massive support from the corporate sector for this Marketing initiative. With many more events in the pipeline, the backing from industry and academia alike has been a major force in increasing the scale this year.
Held on 22nd and 23rd of October, Insight 2011, promises much more to competing participants, workshop attendees and all the participants from Ahmedabad this year. So save your dates, IIM Ahmedabad is getting you a marketing fair you just can’t miss!
