Indian villages, based on my perception, have been the back-bone of our nation. It’s a boon to our Country, but the government or rather the people are focusing more on urban development. The concept "Development of the villages" has acquired a very wrong meaning, One should understand that Development of villages doesn't mean urbanization. It means that the villages should be given their importance by developing the indigenous skills and harvesting them to the greatest extent possible. Only then can the villages be developed or rather upheld. Though India is the 10th largest country in terms of GDP, it has no meaning or it is no valid reason to rejoice as this status for India is not because of development of villages but exploitation of villages. This exploitation of villages is blurring the line between villages being the strength and villages being the weakness of India.
