The Indian Navy Sailors Matric Entry Recruitment Exams are for those young and aspiring men, who are Indian Nationals and have passed out of their matriculation in the current year. These exams are conducted by the Indian Navy for induction into the naval wing.

Structure of Indian Navy Sailors Matric Entry Recruitment Exam

The exams are objective in nature and a student can give his or her exam in either English or in Hindi. In the one hour examination, the questions are mostly of matriculation standard. If a student clears the written examination, he will have to clear the PET (Physical Eligibility Test) and the medicals. However, the final selection of the candidate will be solely on the merits that he had obtained in all the exams combined together. The selected candidates will be on probation for a period of two years and will be confirmed in the armed services after satisfying the criteria’s of the Indian Navy.

Eligibility Criteria of Indian Navy Sailors Matric Entry Recruitment Exam

A pass in the matriculations exams with Maths and Science as optional subject, with an aggregate mark of 55% is the essential qualification for the exam. Otherwise, if the candidate had acquired 50% mark in the higher secondary exams with English and Maths as the main subjects, then also he becomes eligible to apply for the exams.

Only unmarried Indian males are eligible to apply for the post. Please note that Womens are not eligible for applying to the matriculations exams.

The applicants should be either Indian nationals by birth or a citizen of Nepal or Bhutan or Tibetan refugee. The decision on the nationally shall be solely on discretion of the armed forces, subjected to the submission of relevant proofs.

Candidates in between the age group of 17 and 20 only need to apply.

Physical Standards:

Height : The minimum height required to qualify for the matriculation exams is 157cms

Chest Expansion: 5cms

Height and weight should be appropriate.

Eye: 6/12 (naked eyes) and 6/9 and 6/12 with glasses. Colour Perception: CP II.

Sound physical and mental health is very essential for a candidate.

PET (Physical Eligibility Test) Details of Indian Navy Sailors Matric Entry Recruitment Exam

The selection to Indian Navy will also be subject to the passing of the Physical Eligibility Test by the candidates. This includes a running test for a distance of one mile to be completed in 10minutes. Along with that each candidate will have to do 20 sit ups and 10 pushups.

How to Apply for the Indian Navy Sailors Matric Entry Recruitment Exam

All application should be submitted only through offline mode, after reading the instructions given with the application forms. Details regarding the application form can be had from the Employment news or the leading newspapers. Duly filled in applications should reach the Zonal Recruitment Centers before the last date. The students can also download the application from the Air force’s website. The Application should be sent either handwritten or typed.

How to Fill the Form

All the forms should be filled with utmost care. For the purpose, the candidates are required to read the instruction carefully given in the advertisement. Mistakes in filling the forms may lead to the termination of candidature.
