Indian men should blast the GMAT

Let's score the highest we can on GMAT.

If you are an Indian man having self respect, you would not be preparing for CAT. Already many of the seats in IIMs are gone for reservation. Last year they decided to reduce the number of engineers. And this year they have kicked the men out.

So the IIMs don't want excellence. They just want diversity and political correctness. They don't care if you slog your ass off to meet their criteria.

Why should the Indian men take all this. Apart from the fact that men are demonized to a great degree in the Indian media.

I have self respect. So I have ditched the CAT and I am preparing for GMAT.

LETS BLAST THE GMAT. Let the IIMs know that we don't need them. Let the IIMs become women's institutes. I very much respect women BTW. Let them lose out on excellence. Let the world know what we are capable of doing.

Besides seriously consider taking the GMAT. The return on investment of TIME and MONEY is much higher if you do your MBA from abroad.

PLEASE tell your friends who are preparing for CAT to reconsider their decision. Tell this to anyone who is preparing for the CAT. If you want any help for GMAT preparation feel free to post here.

All The Best

Dear Vikram, looks like you are a true activist. While the reservations are disturbing, you will be surprised to realize that the IIM's have taken women diversity into consideration after following the global counterparts.

Institutes all over the world are trying for woman inclusions. You should also know that international students intake in top global b-schools is only 20 - 35 %

If you are opting for global b-schools, try reading our blog on www.b-school.com :) . Message me if you want to be a guest author on the blog to help gmat aspirants. It may help your application !

"IIM's have taken women diversity into consideration after following the global counterparts."

Why are they following global counterparts?

Even if I slog my ass and get 98-99 percentile, I may still not get into one of the IIMs which is worth my time and money.

Besides why did they not attract more number of female CAT applicants. They could have waived the fees for CAT for them. They did that in IIT-JEE and the number of female applicants shot up from 23% to 33% in 2012.

I have done quite a bit of research on gender issues.

Secondly I am fully aware that foreign b-schools have a limit for international students. That's the reason Indian men should thump the GMAT to take away maximum seats reserved for international students in b-schools abroad.

Vikram, you'd be surprised to learn that woman inclusion is not only a part of education in India and abroad but also a part of the corporate strategy.

Waving off fees at b-schools does not ensure more women landing seats at IIM's. Selecting more women from the talent pool ensures it.

I know it sucks for many applicants but that's the way you have to swing it.

When you say Indian men should thump the gmat, the international universities internally have a maximum number of admits per country calculation which means no matter how hard how many Indians try, there will only be x who will get a seat at y b-school.

Keep up your energies though, only the people who think they can change the world, do !
