Wikipedia, the online encyclopedia, is all set to open its first overseas office outside of the US in India

The reason behind this which is that it will be focusing on expansion of its database in Hindi and all other official languages of the country

They are close to selecting the person who will head the India office, which is expected to open in the next couple of months.

The San Francisco-based online encyclopedia also plans to expand to Brazil the Middle East and North Africa as well.

With 8.5 billion monthly page views, an overwhelming majority of Wikipedia page views are from the global North (79.8%).
