Hello Friends
I think we must have a good debate on this topic as we are facing some very bad incidences in multi party system in India and i think this is also responsible for problems like weak decisions of governement, corruption and unbalanced development of country. So what you all think India should have a two party system like USA and whether this will be beneficial for India's growth and development ?

Thinking independently, in India, is termed as “unconventional” and “unorthodox”. This is the reaction of the media when Pr APJ Abdul Kalam suggested that we should have a stable, two-party system in India. He is absolutely right. Here in India, any Kallu can wake up one day and declare a new political party and then after a few years cause a political, social or economic crisis: this is a small strength, but a big weakness of our democracy.

Our multi-party system (apart from the fact that we are inherently lazy and unfaithful) is the biggest reason why our country cannot make a meaningful progress neither in economy nor in social welfare. Neither a single influential party (for instance, the Congress) is good for the country nor the coalition system. The single, strong party turns dictatorial in no time, and the coalition government is nothing but chaos, whether it’s NDA or UPA or any other ABC or XYZ.:SugarwareZ-146::SugarwareZ-146::SugarwareZ-146::SugarwareZ-146::director::director::director::SugarwareZ-211:

The two-party system will bring in ideological stability. People may argue that unlike the western democracies (most of them have two-party systems) ours is a highly diverse society and our interests, needs and aspirations cannot be capped under just two parties, but we have had this multi-party system for years and it hasn’t helped much. It has fostered corruption and inefficiency. The multi-party system constantly divides our country and keeps us backward

NO
Ours is a country which has got great diversity and that has been our strength. According to me a two party system wont be able to do justice to the diversity as the opnions of all the sections of the society cannot be voiced in a 2 party system.

We should have two party system unlike western countries....as the politicians will focus on developing the country, rather than dividing the country in communal lines.....

I think the tow party system would help bring about a lot of focus and IMPROVE THE LEGISLATIVE PROCESS BY PREVENTING change in governments and deflections which burdens the financial excheque.

two party system helps in better decision making and reduction in the corruption as well as the people who have the skills and knoweldge, decision taking ability will be able to contest in the elections .ACC to my view there should also be a bar or eligibility in case to contest in election when dere is eligibility in smaal small things why there is no eligibility in which area where we have to make decisions for our country,,,

india shouild have a two party system because the political class in india is mostly uneducated it is mostly like heirarchy . this people have no conscious they do every wrong and jump parties or create a local party causing a great loss to countr monetarily and stability

India has a problem support a single party for govt, if they were to be divided into two parties... either govt would not stand... or people would change sides as they change parties now!....

India should have a two party systems and it should be implemented that criminals with even one case sould be barred from contesting election

Advantages of 2 party system -
1) Less spending for the govt on the numerous random parties that we have
2) Better decision making
3) Less delays
4) Better for the public to vote

ya , I agee with u frnd.We should have a two party system of politics which will surely bring in much balance in our system of governance and there will be a higher degree of transparency.

I think, First of all its not howmany parties we have in india. Its how we select the people. Hardly we give a thought to select a person for many reasons.
1. We have the relative pressure as we think they will help us if there is a problem. This restricts us to select the right candidate. Atleast I know many who vote like that.
2. There is a group who never thinks of the future but just the short term benefit.. like cash / some gifts
3. So called educated group takes rest in home when the uneducated stands in a queue.

All these leads to a poor candidate selection. Even if we have 2 party system things wont be better.
