Recruiting the unemployed secures you with one thing that is retention of the candidate in your organization. When people get recruited after a long unemployment or big gap from job; they do develop loyalty towards the new job where they have been recruited, and hence get involved in their work very easily.
It is a common scenario that employers don’t hire the unemployed ones and if your company hires the same, your reputation in the market will increase similarly the point of view with which the company is viewed changes and enhances.
Almost all the unemployed brush up their skills during the period of unemployment, hence these can pose positive things to the organization. His updated skills and qualities better than the existing ones will help the organization develop.
The HIRE ACT is advantageous to firms and hence they do take advantage of the same. This helps the firm in strengthening the financial position.
Employers hiring unemployed workers qualify for 6.2 % employer portion tax exemption. In addition to the exemption from payroll tax for 2010, employers can claim a second tax benefit in 2011--an additional general business tax credit of up to $1,000 for any qualified employee hired in 2010 and retained for at least one full year.
Other benefits of hiring the unemployed include increased staff loyalty, stronger community relations, and increased potential for sourcing recruits due to local contacts, increased motivation from existing staff that support and mentor the recruits.
The degree to which employers were disposed to recruiting long-term unemployed can be seen as perpetuity. Most favorably inclined viewed themselves as 'socially responsible' employers and wanted to give unemployed people a 'chance. Less favorably disposed tended to have less sympathetic stances.
