Yeah I know some people usually say that management is nothing new and from a small baby to an old man daily manage their work but in a corporate world where complexities are more than anyone can imagine so we need to make strategies at every point of time and then it helps whatever we have learn in management.

I believe its just a tool 2 get a job
One dont need a degree MBA if he is really talented
It just teaches us how to be more organized

Looking to buy a frog?

A man walks into a bar and asks the bartender, "If I show you a really good trick, will you give me a free drink?" The bartender considers it, then agrees. The man reaches into his pocket and pulls out a tiny rat. He reaches into his other pocket and pulls out a tiny piano. The rat stretches, cracks his knuckles, and proceeds to play the blues.

After the man finished his drink, he asked the bartender, "If I show you an even better trick, will you give me free drinks for the rest of the evening?" The bartender agrees, thinking that no trick could possibly be better than the first. The man reaches into his pocket and pulls out a tiny rat. He reaches into his other pocket and pulls out a tiny piano. The rat stretches, cracks his knuckles, and proceeds to play the blues. The man reaches into another pocket and pulls out a small bullfrog, who begins to sing along with the rat's music.

While the man is enjoying his beverages, a stranger confronts him and offers him $100,000.00 for the bullfrog. "Sorry," the man replies, "he's not for sale." The stranger increases the offer to $250,000.00 cash up front. "No," he insists, "he's not for sale." The stranger again increases the offer, this time to $500,000.00 cash. The man finally agrees, and turns the frog over to the stranger in exchange for the money.

"Are you insane?" the bartender demanded. "That frog could have been worth millions to you, and you let him go for a mere $500,000!" "Don't worry about it." the man answered. "The frog was really nothing special. You see, the rat's a ventriloquist."

Yeh jo dil hai na.. bada darpok hai. isko bevkoof bana ke rakho.. life mein jitni bhi problem ho.. isko bolo "koi baat nahi chachu.. sab kuch theek thaak hai. ALL IZZ WELL. ALL IZZ WELL". How much true is this ?

Just keep uttering this to yourself, that everything is fine, and there you get a big boost of confidence to tackle any problem. My dad always says, “There is no problem that big that it cannot be tackled. It is only the mental roadblock to believe that it can be tackled that is big!” Again, how much true?

Well, the dialogue is from the movie – 3 idiots, What a movie it was? More than the entertainment value the subtle message that is delivered speaks volumes, and hopefully will awake people, who are really behind the MBA Degree.

This theme is highly inspiring and thought provoking even while it takes a dig at the current educational system with all its latent flaws and seriously questions the very relevance of societal whims which eat away into a budding student's mind that the end of education is a high profile job, wealth, fame, name et al., making them deprived of the opportunity to set their vision on something where their heart and soul lies!

Our MANAGEMENT PARADISE also has raised some very valid & burning questions - teenagers committing suicide out of pressure, the validity of the college courses, need of grading system, etc. which is much more similar to “3 idiots-Movie”.

Thanks to all the MP administrator. My focus is going out of the thread at the moment.

Though an MBA degree cant teach u leadership qualities but its a formal framework atleast to groom the qualities. So , yes its important frm this angle.

So guys,
I feel that some of you have some or the other +ve or -ve valid reasons for the importance of MBA Degree.....
I again want to emphasise on the point of MBA with respect to maha barbaad aadmi, i.e., who doesn`t gets the right oppurtunity at right time, can be concluded as MAHA BARBAAD AADMI but who gets the oppurtunity in the initial runup can be concluded as actual holder of MBA or Masters in Business Administration Degree.........isnt it..????

MBA helps you gain perspective of any business, hence it is important if you are interested in learning about how businesses run. Ofcourse, you will gain the same exposure by work-experience but the time taken would be longer.

Most of the management students look at the MBA degree as a gateway of higher salary job but the most important feature of MBA is u become a gentelman from ordinary man after ur 2 yrs of MBA. The pesonality development is the distinct feature of MBA, so never look at MBA as just a piece of paper which is useful 4 higher salary job but try and utilize this 2 yrs for ur own development

i just wana say mba degree doesnt teach u nething new///it only helps u to organised things u hav learnt in ur past..//...............

fOLLOW US MODEL.. it gives success.......................................................................................................

I see it more like a gateways since you do not really gain any quantitative knowledge. But that's not the case if you really dedicate yourself to this program and get as much possible involved. It also depends by the school where you do the MBA. Some schools come with coops and they really make a difference.
The mba just proves the employer that you are able to put effort in your future work at the company that you want to work for.
