Introduction
With the advent of low cost DSLRs and other equipment, budding filmmakers have been able to realize their dreams with guerrilla filmmaking.The scene for Short Film Making in India has also widely improved, thanks to guerrilla filmmaking.‘ShooT’ invites filmmakers to showcase their filmmaking skills at Chaos 2012.
Event
This is an online event. Theparticipants are invited to send in short films made by them. All the short films will be uploaded on Facebook. The best two short films, adjudged by a panel of expert judges, will be awarded cash prizes.
Most Liked Short Film - All the entries will be put up on the Chaos Facebookpage and viewership will be made open to all. The video with the most “likes” will be awarded the “Most Liked Short Film” cash prize.
All the winning entries will be screened in IIM Ahmedabad during Chaos 2012.
Rules:
•The entries must be short films – any genre. Short Films can be in Hindi, English or Bi-lingual. Sub-titles are a must.
•The script can be original or an adaptation. If it is an adaptation of already published work, due credit must be given to the owner of the content.
•Time-limit: Maximum 10 minutes (excluding credits, if any), this limit should be strictly observed. Entries exceeding time limit shall not be considered for evaluation.
•Decisions of the judges shall be final and binding to all teams.
•Excessive obscenity, excessive, foul language and photo slideshows are prohibited. Please refrain from making advertisements, remixes and spoofs.
•A participant can submit a maximum of only one short film entry.
•USE OF PROFESSIONAL HELP IS PROHIBITED FOR ANY PART OF THE FILM MAKING.
Participation Details
•All participant filmmakers should be certified students of their institute. Pleaseprovide valid identity cards.
Judging Criteria
•The short films will be judged on all the basic aspectslike Script, Cinematography, Direction, Acting, Music, Editing etc.
•The decision of the judges will be final and no queries regarding judging will be entertained.
Registration Rules and Procedure
•For registration, please mail a DVD containing the following to the event organizer (details given below):
SHORT FILM Entry (Ensure that the size is low, so that it is uploadable on youtube) (Alternatively you can send 2 files of the same film in a DVD, one, a low quality version and the other, a high quality one)
Details of the Filmmaker in a Word file:
- Institute represented
- Scanned copy of your Institute Identity card
- Contact details (Email/Phone)
•Last date for registration through mail is December 31, 2011. Registration stands invalid without the DVD’s receipt, after which registration may be accepted at the discretion of the event coordinators.
•The results will be announced latest by January 14, 2012.
