March, 2015: One of the globally recognized and leading healthcare research organizations' of the country, IIHMR University, Jaipur has initiated a two week training programme for newly recruited medical officers under the Department of Public Health and Family Welfare, Government of Madhya Pradesh, from 16th to 27th March, 2015. The training has been sponsored by the Government of Madhya Pradesh and will be conducted by IIHMR University.

Prof. P.R Sodani, Dean Training, IIHMR University, Jaipur said, "The National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) aimed at bringing architectural corrections in the Indian health sector by implementing strategies aimed towards providing accessible, affordable and quality health services especially in rural areas. NRHM strategic directions included increasing public health spending, integrating organizational structures, optimizing human resources, developing infrastructure, allocating resources and developing district health plans through decentralizing planning and management, strengthening community processes, and engaging private sector. The NRHM envisaged improvements and reform in programme management as one of the keys to improved health care outcomes. Induction Programme is essential for newly recruited medical officers for effective programme management."

Dr. PR Sodani also said, "The programme that has been developed by us; will enable the medical professionals/ doctors of District Hospitals, Primary Health Centres and Community Health Centres to discuss current and future challenges; in a setting that provides a rare and unique opportunity to interact with subject experts. The overall aim of the Induction Training Programme is to improve the participants understanding on health systems and various programmes being implemented."
