‘Follow Every Rainbow’ shares inspiring stories of 25 women enterprenurs. These stories are real-life experiences of how these women climbed up the ladder of success with or without support from family. Some of these women took this risky side of business to survive when they found their lives coming to a standstill due to personal or professional reasons. They fought odds to find their strong presence in the otherwise commonly male-dominated world of business.
I have read two other books, ‘Stay Hungry Stay Foolish’ and ‘Connect the dots’ from the same author, Rashmi Bansal. However, these books failed to inspire me. But, the moment I picked up and started reading the review copy of ‘Follow Every Rainbow,’ I was hungry to read other stories as well.
The book is divided into three parts, namely, ‘Lakshmi,’ ‘Durga’ and ‘Saraswati.’ For instance, Leela Bordia, Neeraja International’s tells us it is important to give priority to family and should have a fine balance between work and home. In spite of this, she herself has come a long way and carved a business empire, simultaneously creating a platform for work for a group of villagers. A Ameena, PJP Industries is an inspiration, especially for the burqa-clad woman since she has ventured into the heavy machinery, which few women dare to venture. Patricia Narayan, Caterer fought all odds in her personal life, her interest in learning and involving in A-Z of catering and white-collar free attitude. Here is a story not to be missed in the entire book. I also like the story of Manju Bhatia, Vasuli, who is a source of inspiration for all youngsters. Most stories are touched upon in detail, spread across 10-15 pages, with an introduction to the women enterprenurs, her story of success and finally, advice to women enterprenurs.
