Hello,

After a lot of visits to the MTNL office, we finally got an MTNL connection for our SOHO office which has 8 workstations.

With renewed excitement I started browsing and to my horror I saw floating pop up ads in the sidebar of my laptop that showed MTNL top up plans. :SugarwareZ-079:

I thought my machine was hacked, but a quick google search revealed that MTNL has stooped to the low life level making money by showing me stupid ads even though they are charging me a monthly fee for their internet service.

I know that there should be a work around to block this at the router level. Anyone faced similar issues or knows a workaround?

I eagerly await to hear from you.

And people who are looking for the username and password for their dm 856w mtnl routers

Username : admin
password : mentioned below the router device give to you.

Once you have logged in there, go to access management > URL Filter and filter ip 203.94.243.40 .

That seems to have stopped the ads for me for now.

Follow the steps below:

Open the router configuration page %u2013 192.168.1.1 in web browser.
Login via defacto username/password: admin (if you haven%u2019t modified it).
Navigate to Access Management > Filters.
Chose URL Filter in Filter Type Selection and enable it from the radio button below it.
Enter Adphonso.com and 203.94.243.40 in URL Index 1 and 2.
Hit save and reboot the router from Maintenance.
