how to develop new business?

Depends on your capital requirement and how much expertise you need.

If you can raise whatever you need on your own I would go for a strategic alliance with a complimentary product supplier.

If you can't, maybe a JV is the way to go.

u got do an initial analysis..need to follow da below steps:
idea generation..
markets u wish to enter
arrange finances
market survey.etc

I'd say. if u're just a college student and not much to invest.. online venture is the way to go... obviously research, marketing and some good luck are quite crucial for its success..
What say??

From a business standpoint, we learn this in International Business subject in our MBA.

Which option to choose depends solely on the market that you choose.

Joint venture as in the case of Maruti Suzuki, where suzuki is a technology expert and maruti has penetration in India.

Strategic alliance when you want to leverage core competency of complimenting businesses to facilitate a common goal.

Merger when you want to dissolve identity of both companies and create a new one.

Acquisition when you have better brawl than the acquired ;)

Contract when you want an alliance for short term on fixed price.

I dont know if anyone reads anything around here.

If you read the Original Post, the question is

How to develop new business through:
1.) JV
2.) Strategic alliance
3.) Merger
4.) Acquisition
5.) Contract

Even a kid from 3rd grade would say he requires luck, patience and hard work. Isnt it obvious?

First you need a proper Business Plan. 'coz if u r nt having a plan u cant identuify ur requirements or plan ur budgets. doing a proper SWOT analysis will tell you which is the right route to follow..
