How long will the worldwide economic slump continue?

i think the world economy is on the road to recovery especially due to the growth of india and china which would go beyond 6%

World economy can get better if there is progress in productivity and current financial structure should change.

Free economy, goodgovernance and less borders will take this world much further than we could imagine

Until then this statistical economic modulation will continue from perioe to period

Hey Ravi,

this is a good debate.
What I believe is that, the up side of price rise in the commodities and land & building even the capital markets of any country not running on their real price value. the are only run at it's supply & demand and also on financial behavior. when those things are run on their intrinsic values then any economy can run better.

2010. it seems to be over by that. still there are some problems going on in some of the European countries which can come on surface any time.

As some1 here said earlier, it wud definitely b 2-3 years b4 things get back in shape globally... however 4 now, guess with 7.9% growth that India clocked in the last Quarter shud giv us the confidence tht India on the other hand can bail out few countries.. :)

I am sure there will be more Mergers or Takeovers undertaken by Indian Companies... So ppl we are going global so hold your head high!! :SugarwareZ-297:

I believe until 2012, as we need another 3 to 4 years to rocover. Many MEDC are already are holding up pretty well. Conditions are improving daily.

Though the scene in India, China and many other countries is improving, many developed European countries are under huge fiscal deficit. The deficit is even upto 70% of their GDP. You can never tell when the economy of these countries will suddenly go bust, something like what has happened in Dubai.

I feel the economic slump is mainly due to sub prime issue in western countries. inspite of the downturn, indian economy continues to be resilient. More money will flow into the emerging markets.

Well signs are showing that now the era of European continent is ending and its a good signs for the developing countries like India and Brazil.
India, China and other developing countries have shown god signs of recovery but still there is a long way ahead for developing countries and also some new problems can reduce the pace of development. Copenhagen Summit for environment protection is the one which can affect the growth of developing countries on name of environment protection.

Yes off course i do agree specially India and China are capable enough to lead world economy it will be interesting to see the competition between the two Asian countries for becoming the world economic superpower. India is known for IT and FMCG sector whereas China is known for their aggressive manufacturing and dumping strategies.

I AM BACK !!!!!!!111

the growth India is showing is because of the new base year..... other then that... the recession has been said to have a double dip... so should last for another year.....

India is one of the least affected countries.... it can obviously lead the world out of the recession,....
