Tricky question at the outset . As with choosing all bschools , there is no straight answer . Here are some insights:
Geographic Growth :
Asian MBA's , especially some programs in india (IIMs, ISB), Singapore(NUS, Nanyang) and HK/China(Ceibs etc) are growing much more in popularity due to the growth in these regions, coupled with world class faculty/education and importantly, relatively lower cost of these programs vs those in US/Europe. Lots of global big business school names(INSEAD/Chicago Booth etc) have already established strong cross-geographic programs to tap into the demand here so that itself in an indication
Global Repute/Prestige and Icons:
Whilst Asian schools are possibly getting to be on - par with globally recognised names, the likes of Harvard, Stanford, IMD and LBS etc. have long established MBA programs, operate at the leading edge of Management and Leadership thinking and importantly, are recognised across corridors of corporate world.
The above is an important insight/tradeoff . The final decision really depends on fit, aspirations, affordability and finally, competitiveness to succeed. Its important that anyone wanting to embark on this journey thinks through all these factors before taking a plunge !
