Havor and Gitanjali’s Fierce in Franchising


Franchising in the ice cream and jeweler industry means a whole lot of thing to everyone. These two sectors are such where once you make your presence you don’t have to search for customers and develop a push strategy; the pull is obvious with ease. This strategy has been smartly adopted by Havmor and Gitanjali. Havmor Ice Cream plans to double its presence in India in next one year. Currently, the company is operating through 60 outlets across the various cities of Gujarat, through a mix of company owned and franchised outlets. Cities like cities of Gujarat like Surat, Rajkot, Jamnagar are being targeted along with the same there are plans for expansion in US and Dubai. The company is coming new flavors and inventions in the ice cream industry like non-alcoholic whisky flavored ice creams and various other flavors for party’s and weddings. Same is the scenario of Gitanjali jewelers who is planning to franchise with total of 300 outlets. The company has added 150 stores to its existing 200 franchised stores in the past three months. Gitanjali has a plan of investing an amount of Rs. 10 crores. Gitanjali has targeted that one tenth of its estimated annual sales in 2015 would be through e-commerce
