Gur Khandsari Industry is typical example of Agro Processing Village Industries.
Sugar cane is a commodity which cannot be stored in ware houses and matured sugar Cane cannot be kept standing in field beyond the maturity period owing to deterioration of its Sugar contents after maturity period.
The freshly harvested Sugar Cane is to be crushed for desired recovery of its Sugar Contents. Sugar Cane after harvest also starts deterioration by inversion.
Export Potential:-
There is good scope for the export of Gur to some foreign countries where generally people of Indian origin have settled down such as Tanzania, Kenya, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Maldives, and Bhutan etc. Now it may be possible to export Gur to Middle East countries also.
