Mr. Sandeep Garg from the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (Ministry of Power, Govt. of India) visited DMS on April 21st, 2011. Mr. Garg shared some of the thought provoking facts from the energy conservation sector as well as his experiences of leading the war to bring some of the most fruitful and beneficial changes mandate for the socio-economic improvement and waste reduction.
“The energy demand is increasing due to rising incomes, accelerated Industrialization, urbanization and population growth” he cited. He also talked about the various positives coming out of Energy Act 2001. As part of Standards and Labeling Programme, Mr. Garg talked about the concept of Voluntary Labels for refrigerators and air conditioners. His talk was more of an eye-opener for us as it introduced the nuances of latest standards of energy efficiency.
