Govt plans 30 mega food parks
NEW DELHI: In an effort to increase the agricultural growth in the country, President Pratibha Patil on Monday said the government is actively considering report of expert group on agricultural indebtedness.
In her address to the joint sitting of Parliament, the president said agricultural growth would be stepped up to four per cent in the Eleventh Plan.
The government planned to set up 30 mega food parks to help India double its share in global trade of processed food by 2015.
A National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and management would also be established.
Government is working on holistic approach to make travel easier across Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir, she said.
