Govt might soon widen Mysore-Bangalore highway stretch

Mysore: Considering the increasing traffic congestion problems, the Karnataka government is considering to widen the Mysore-Bangalore highway stretch. The outlined plan involves extending the 140 km Mysore-Bangalore stretch into six lane.

However, the proposal has to be soon put forth before the state’s Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who also holds the Finance portfolio.

As per the officially disclosed figures, traffic volumes on the highway stretch has soared considerably, with the current density standing at about 70,000 passenger car units per day.
